THE CHARACTER
Name: Erik Lensherr Aliases: Magneto Fandom: X-Men Cinematic Universe (XCU) Point in canon: After movie X-Men: Apocalypse Species: Mutant Age: 39 Link to outside source: Here
Personality: Erik has a very strong will, especially when it concerns his beliefs about mutants and humans. He has seen the dark side of humans quite well during the Nazi regime era during the war, his own parents had been victims in the death camps, and so he will never let that happen to his mutant race. He also was not really so surprised when both Russia and America suddenly turned on them (he had even warned Charles that it would happen), right after being saved by the mutants. He will go to nearly any lengths to ensure that humans are not a threat to his people. He believes that humans and mutants would never exist peacefully, that they should be separate from each other.
As far as mutantkind goes, he is fiercely protective and loyal to them.. unless they oppose him, of course. Or if they killed his mother. But those who had been closely connected to him such as Xavier, for example, he wouldn't be quick to eliminate them as swiftly as other threats. Though he and Charles had gone their separate ways, Erik still has a respect for him, in spite of the now differing views between them and the opposite sides that they are on. He also likes a good debate now and then, similar to chess. He is sort of gifted in that area. A talent he would utilize when recruiting other mutants to his cause, which would prove even easier if humans turned out to have also rejected them in society as well. And if they can live separate from humans, and possibly also in a position to rule them too? He would honestly be quite alright with such a scenario.
Erik also has a sort of tendency to.. double cross an ally or go too far to regain control in specific circumstances, his dark side usually influences him to gain the upper hand and use questionable methods to keep that control. But this is usually in cases where the safety of the entire world or all of mutantkind are in danger, and he sees no other option than to play the part of the villain. And of course during this, he has a habit of public grandstanding as well, i.e. giving speeches to the whole world via cameras, as well as including dangerous demonstrations of his power. In these types of situation when peace is futile, he'll choose his own way. Then again, as he had once said? Peace was never an option.
Abilities: Has a a mutant ability to control any form of magnetism, can sense metal from far distances, and form a bit of an electromagnetic field around himself. He might also be able to control someone if they have a lot of "iron" in the blood, or kill them by removing all of it. His helmet also blocks telepathy, mind control, or psionic attacks. Adept in unarmed combat, leadership, debate, chess. His power is useless if he is in a place absent of any metal. He also can be very creative when it comes to controlling metal. Also due to parts of his costume being metal, he can enable himself to levitate, hover, or fly to wherever he wishes to go.
